patanjalim pranjaliranato smi
abahu purushakaram
shankhacakrasi dharinam
sahasra shirasam shevetam
pranamami patanjalim

Let us bow for the noblest of sages Patanjali, who gave yoga for serenity and sanctity of mind, grammar for clarity and purity of speech and medicine for perfection of health.

Let us prostrate ourselves for Patanjali, an incarnation of Adishesha, whose upper body has a human form, whose arms hold a conch and a disc, and who is crowned by a thousand headed cobra.

Lad os bukke os for Patanjali, den ædleste af de viise. Der gav os yoga til Sindets klarhed og renhed, grammatik til sprogets glans og uangribelighed og medicin til sundhedens fuldkommenhed.
